I use the Utah State Office of Education Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines as well as their Fine Arts Education Guidelines as my guide to plan my curriculum. It contains objectives that the state of Utah made that should be met before your child enters Kindergarten. I have a copy on hand at all times, and you can also look it up online if you would like it as a resource. I have written lesson plans that I can work from, but I also take into consideration what your children are interested in. If what they would like to learn is not what I had planned, then I plan something different! I believe that children learn from their own experiences, but they need an adult to give them the tools necessary to have those experiences! I spend a lot of time and effort on my lesson plans that include all the objectives in the five general learning areas of the Pre-K Guidelines; Approaches to Learning, Social/Emotional, Language/Literacy, Mathematics, and Physical/Health and Safety. Included in daily activities and lessons are the four areas of fine arts; Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.
